My Review
Characters
If you love dragons, this book is for you! I very much got Fourth Wing vibes. And although I didn’t like it quite as much, I still love Promised in Fire.Β
In Promised in Fire you will see dragons and Fae. Later in the series you will deal with humans as well, and are mentioned only at the beginning of Promised in Fire. Dragons play a major part in the series, which I love! Each dragon can shift to human from, and they also have bonded mates.Β
Each fae is associated with their elemental powers, which also determines their phsycial appreance. The earth fae are green, water fae and blue and so on.Β
Magic
There is elemental magic in Promised in Fire. You will see fae dealing with earth, air, water, and there are extinct fae that could once use fire. Fire is now primarily associated with dragons.Β Some fae can use two elements, but is very uncommon.
Within each element, the fae can control different aspects of it. For example, some water fae are better with currents, while others are better with ice. If you are a greater fae, you can control more than one aspect of an element.Β
Romance
Both the FMC and the MMC fight the romance in Promised in Fire. The MMC who is a dragon, is bonded to a fae, but both species are born to hate each other. This is due to an ongoing feud of wars fought by their ancestors.Β
Because of this ingrained contention between dragons and fae, both the MC fight the attraction and the bond that they share.Β
Plot
I will say the ending of Promised in Fire is a little cheesy. Honestly, it’s just the last sentence haha. So if you ignore that, then I thought it was just fine. Promised in Fire builds up an entire story around a prophecy, and the book ends on a cliff hanger. Almost like it’s mid story. The characters complete what seems like only the first leg of their journey, that needs to be continued in the next book. I’m thinking you could mesh the books together and just make one big one!

Summary
Adara has been an outsider for as long as she can remember. Born and raised in the earth fae realm, sheβs a water fae who canβt control her magic, making her not just useless, but downright dangerous at times. When a training mishap accidentally unleashes a hidden magic inside her, Adara suddenly finds herself on the run. The king wants to use her powers for nefarious reasons.
As the last of his kind, Einar wants nothing to do with the kingdom of Ediria or its problems. But when a beautiful fae female awakens him from an enchanted slumber, Einar is reluctantly ensnared.Β
The last thing Adara and Einar want to do is join forces, no matter how scorching the passion between them is. But a dark magic is sweeping through the land, rotting the kingdom from the inside out. And if the two cannot put aside the centuries-old feud between their races, they will lose everything they hold dear…

Where to buy?
Since I go through books so fast, I normally don’t like to buy books brand new. For the most part I have found amazon to be a great place to find used books. They often offer great deals, and if you have amazon prime, shipping is free!
Get Promised in Fire here from amazon.
Another place I like to go for books is a website called thriftbooks. Often I’ll price compare between this website and amazon. Thriftbooks used to be cheaper than amazon, but lately I’ve been surprised with amazon. So you never know!
The last place I go to for books is kindle unlimited. Believe it or not you don’t need a kindle to get the benefits! Kindle has an app you can just download onto your phone. This is one of my favorite features because if I forget my kindle, I can still pull up the book on my phone! And the app does a great job switching to the last page I was on in the book even if it was on a different device.Β
